Floating Baffle Curtain

Each floating baffle curtain is equipped with marine grade floats that sit on top of the baffle and are encased entirely by fabric. The standard size for these floats is six (6) inches in diameter, although other float sizes are available to meet your specific site needs. To help them hold up throughout the duration of their use, these floats are made with marine-grade materials suitable for extended use in lagoon and water locations.

The depth and the shape of the skirt located on the baffle is typically custom selected to meet requirements of your particular project. In general, it is best if the skirt depth matches the depth of the high water elevation in your particular lagoon. Ends of these baffles are sloped at the 2:1 ratios 3:1 ratios or other ratios as specified by your slop requirements.

Floating Baffle Curtain Anchoring

Secure the floating baffle curtain to the shore using anchor posts and stainless steel cable of a suitable length and size to allow the baffles to adjust when the water level changes and to maintain proper tension on the baffle. Use anchor points (loops of stainless cable passed through a link in the ballast chain) as specified. Concrete anchors can be attached in field if needed. For section connection, use eyebolts for anchor line attachment.

Shore Anchors and Lateral Posts: Shore anchor posts need to be installed no further than three feet away from the edge of the reservoir/high water elevation. Posts that are utilized must be suitable for extended use in a marine environment, and also provide sufficient strength to perform as anchor points for the water baffles anchoring system.
