What is Sludge Filtration?

Sludge filtration is used in environmental remediation for water dredging in contaminated areas. Sludge and sediment need to be carefully contained in lakes, rivers or harbors so it doesn't spread to the air or other parts of the body of water. Sludge dewatering can also be used in marinas and other bodies of water to improve navigation and make waterways more accessible for ships and vessels. Containing sludge and silt, while filtering water helps keeps your city or county in compliance.


How Sludge Filtration Tubes Work

1. Filling: Sludge or silt is pumped into the dewatering tube. Solids bind together, allowing the water or liquid to separate out.

2. Dewatering: Clear effluent water drains from tube, leaving 99% of solids in the tube. Clear filtered water can then be recirculated in the system.

3. Consolidation: Solids remain in the bag. When tube is full, contents are deposited in landfill or removed and applied to land when appropriate.
