The geotextile drainage fabric 10 oz. non woven is the first of the heavy weights, the strongest and sturdiest of all the nonwoven geotextiles. Heavy weight geotextile drainage fabrics boast superior strength with a grab tensile rating of 250 lbs. but also are very durable and among the most resistant to tear damage. While the strength of the 10 oz. geotextile drainage fabric is on par with that of woven geotextiles, it has the added benefit of being able to provide filtration while being a more pliable and forgiving fabric. Lightweight and medium weight versions of non woven geotextile drainage fabrics are also available for less rigorous site conditions.

Unlike the woven geotextiles, nonwovens use a needle punched process to form the synthetic fabric. This is what provides the felt-like texture, along with geotextile drainage fabric's superior filtration properties. It also is what makes the fabric pliable so that it can stretch and fit the application's needs better. While both fabric types can handle similar applications, like slope stabilization, 10 oz. non woven geotextile drainage fabric will also be able to filter the sediment before it comes through. Additionally, nonwoven geotextile has the ability to wrap to the contours of a slope more closely.


With a high flow rate and superior strength, 10 oz non woven geotextile fabric can handle demanding slopes or terrain with ease. Its thickness makes it ideal for applications where cushioning is needed also.
